I don’t know about you guys, but I’m in full decorating + gift wrapping + holiday-fun-party-times mode over here.
I always love December – not just because of the JOYYYYYY and the LOOOOOOVE and the general warm-fuzzies, but because it’s a?month full of social events at which IT IS TOTALLY ACCEPTABLE TO EAT ONE MILLION APPETIZERS AND CALL IT DINNER.
You guys. Tiny food. LOTS of tiny food. That you can eat all day everyday. And pair with ALL THE COCKTAILS.
December just GETS me.
And since I have holiday?food?on the brain,?I wanted to take a hot minute today to share some of my FAVORITE, most perfect-for-sharing (or, umm, NOT sharing) holiday appetizer recipes.?Most can be made (or at least prepped) in advance, and all are sure to bring you holiday fame and fortune. (Well…maybe not fame and fortune. But at least a few high fives from friends and family! Especially after eggnogs 1, 2, and 5).
THIS BAKED RICOTTA WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
Quick, easy, and tahini-free (for those of us who never remember to stock our pantries ??????).
Salmon Dip = delicious. Cucumber Cups = people will totally think you’re fancy (even though they’re super simple!)
When in doubt, make salsa. This one has just a handful of ingredients and is ready in under 5 minutes (can I get a WOOT WOOT!)
The EASIEST twice baked potatoes. Made with Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream (so they’re BASICALLY health food).
Whipped goat cheese. Sweet blackberries. Fresh basil. Rosemary-infused honey. ‘NUFF SAID.
These light and flavorful crabcakes are easy to make in advance – just heat them up whenever you’re hungry!
When in doubt, add wine to your appetizers.
Make this ahead and serve with a loaf of bread (or three).
Simple, delicious, and always a hit. (Also, one of the OG appetizers from the early days of Life As A Strawberry!)
THESE TOTS, you guys.
The perfect warm-and-toasty holiday bite.
I dare you not to be obsessed with these onion rings. (Also, pairs well with margaritas).
