Today, I’m going to dive right in – because this year, we have a VIDEO! Watch the video recap below, and keep scrolling for the rest of this year’s photos, restaurant recommendations, and event wrap-ups.
VIDEO: FEAST PORTLAND 2018
ON TO THE PHOTOS!
(ABOVE) Night Market is held in front of the stunning Tilikum Crossing, the first bridge of its kind in the U.S. Tilikum is open only to public transit, pedestrians, and cyclists – no cars!
(ABOVE) This sweet & spicy fried cauliflower from Parachute Chicago was one of the best bites of the night.
One of Feast’s flagship events, Smoked! celebrates all things cooked over an open flame.
This amaaaaazing brisket (ABOVE) was destined for a bonkers delicious smoked brisket taco from Vidal Miguel of Valentina’s Tex Mex BBQ in Austin. Easily one of the best bites I had all weekend (didn’t even get a picture because I was too busy stuffing my face #SorryNotSorry).
Jerk corn from Nina Compton of Compère Lapin in New Orleans.
BRUNCH VILLAGE & SUNDAY TAILGATE
The final Feast Portland Flagship event (Brunch Village) and one of the last Fun-Sized Events of the year (Sunday Tailgate) were a celebration of delicious food, community, and the close of another fabulous year at Feast.
Aebleskiver (Danish Pancake Balls, ABOVE and BELOW) – one of the coolest things we saw all weekend. Aebleskiver were completely new to me, and we must have watched the chefs from Broder Nord flip these spherical pancakes around for half an hour (MESSSSSMERIZING). Good news: They have these babies on their regular menu, so if you’re in Portland, please go order a hundred of them so I can live vicariously.
This breakfast sandwich (ABOVE) from Edouardo Jordan of Junebaby in Seattle looks simple, but it packed a ton of flavor. One of the highlights of Brunch Village this year.?
This is a BACON CHOP. It was grilled, dipped in Alabama White Sauce, and rolled in crispy pig skin by the folks at The Country Cat, one of my favorite brunch places in Portland.
